NORFOLK — Central Community College dropped its first games of the season over the weekend at the Hawks Classic in Norfolk.
The Raiders lost 98-92 to Iowa Central Community College on Friday, then fell 99-93 to No. 18 Iowa Lakes Community College in overtime on Saturday.
Against Iowa Central, CCC couldn’t overcome the Tritons’ hot shooting. ICCC made 19 of 30 3-pointers and was over 50 percent (33 of 65) from the field.
Tray Croft had a game-high 31 points on 9-for-16 shooting, including 7 of 9 from beyond the arc, to lead the Tritons.
Malik Mooving scored a team-high 27 points for Central, knocking down all 14 of his free-throw attempts. Bennett Nelson added 20 points and nine rebounds and Jaxon Simons finished with 16 points.
Against Iowa Lakes, the Raiders jumped out to a 51-42 lead at halftime, but the Lakers rallied in the second half, the pulled away in the extra period.
Mooving had another strong performance with a game-high 29 points. Simons added 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Central heads to Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Tuesday to play Iowa Western Community College.
