MCCOOK — Central Community College took care of business Wednesday in its first conference road match.
The third-ranked Raiders (18-2) were challenged by McCook Community College, but made plays at the end of sets to get out of there with a sweep (25-23, 26-24, 25-20).
“It's always good to get a win in McCook,” Central head coach Mary Young said.
It wasn’t the cleanest match for the Raiders, who made 22 hitting errors, but Young credits her team for finding a way to win.
“I was proud of our players for weathering the storm and playing through it,” she said.
Jacie Laetsch had a double-double to lead the Raiders. The freshman from Chambers finished with 10 kills and 12 digs. Maeghan Pieper had eight kills and Amber Anderson added seven for Central.
The Raiders host Division I, No. 2 Iowa Western Community College (13-0) on Wednesday at Raider Fieldhouse. The Reivers beat Central in four sets last Friday in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
