COLUMBUS — Local golfers led Central Community College to a dual win over Mount Marty College in the first event of the season.
The Raiders shot a 310 Wednesday at Elks Country Club, beating Mount Marty by 10 strokes. It’s the lowest score posted by Central in almost two years, according to head coach Britt Blackwell.
Lakeview graduates Colten and Caden Remm posted the top scores over 18 holes. Colten fired a 74 and his twin brother was close behind with a 75.
Scotus Central Catholic graduate Marshall Dreifurst carded an 80 while Shelby-Rising City graduate Nate Grossnicklaus shot an 81.
Blackwell thinks this group has the potential to go even lower this season. He's aiming for a score under 300.
The Raiders get their next chance at that mark Sept. 8 when they host a triangular with York College and Southwestern Community College at Elks Country Club.
