CHARLESTON, W. Va. — Central Community College hung with Cowley County Community College, but the ninth-seeded Tigers were too much at the end of sets during Thursday's opening-round match of the NJCAA Division II national tournament.

Cowley County swept the eighth-seeded Raiders 25-21, 26-24, 25-20 in Charleston, West Virginia.

Jacie Laetsch had a double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs to lead Central. She was the only player in double figures in either category for the Raiders.

Amber Anderson had nine kills and a block and Chainey Tompkin added seven kills and two solo blocks.

The Raiders (33-11) play No. 16 Harcum (20-8) at 11 a.m. Friday in an elimination match.
