COLUMBUS — It wasn’t an especially pretty performance from ninth-ranked Central Community College, but the Raiders still swept Midland University’s junior varsity team 26-24, 25-17, 25-22 at Raider Fieldhouse to stay undefeated this season.

Central (7-0) committed 19 hitting errors in Wednesday's win and hit just .155. In its three five-set wins this season, the Raiders averaged just 20 hitting errors.

Chainey Tompkin led Central against Midland with eight kills on a .400 hitting percentage and five block assists. Amber Anderson added eight kills and four block assists, and Scotus Central Catholic graduate Maeghan Pieper had six kills.

Paxton Throne had a double-double for CCC with 27 assists and 15 digs.

The Raiders head to Norfolk on Friday for a two-day tournament. They'll face Marshalltown Community College and Colby Community College on the opening day.
