ALBION -- Grand Island Northwest edged Boone Central/Newman Grove 49-48 on Tuesday.

Brady Glause scored a game-high 21 points to pace the Vikings (8-14) and Riley Schliep added 13.

Jessie Sullivan led the Cardinals (14-7) with 17 points while Carter Henry finished with 16 points.

It was a close game throughout as the teams were tied at 10-all at the end of the first quarter. Northwest went ahead 20-17 at half, but BC/NG came back to take a 32-30 lead into the fourth quarter, but couldn’t hold on.

The Cardinals host Ainsworth on Saturday.

St. Francis 46,

Aquinas 38

DAVID CITY -- Trevor Pfeifer got the better of Tuesday’s matchup with Telegram Super Senior Tyler Vavrina.

Pfeifer finished with a game-high 21 points and seven steals to lead the Flyers (14-7), No. 7 in Class D-2, past David City Aquinas 46-38.

Vavrina finished with 12 points to lead the Monarchs (12-8).

Aquinas led 12-8 after the first quarter and 20-15 at half. St. Francis came back to tie the game at 26-all after the third quarter before winning the game in the final eight minutes.

St. Francis plays at Shelby-Rising City on Saturday while Aquinas hosts Centennial on Friday.

East Butler 57,

Cross County 42

BRAINARD -- East Butler beat Cross County 57-42 on Tuesday.

Jaden Rhynalds scored a game-high 23 points and Trevor Havlovic added 19 points for the Tigers (14-8).

Colton Beebe scored 20 points to lead Cross County (9-11)

East Butler methodically pulled away in the first half, holding down the Cougars’ offense. The Tigers led 7-4 after the first quarter and 24-15 at half. East Butler blew the game open in the third period to take a 41-21 lead.

Cross County hosts Class D-2, No. 4 Exeter-Milligan on Friday.

Fullerton 63,

St. Edward 23

ST. EDWARD -- Class D-1, No. 10 Fullerton made quick work of St. Edward on Tuesday.

The Warriors led by 14 after the first quarter and never looked back in a 63-23 road win.

It was 18-4 after eight minutes of play and 33-9 at halftime. Fullerton (16-4) continued to pour it on in the third period, taking a 52-14 lead into the final quarter.

Trevor Rasmussen led St. Edward (2-15) with eight points.

The Beavers play at Hampton on Thursday.

Clarkson Leigh 39

HOOPER -- Ben Moxness and Jacob Polk combined to outscore Clarkson/Leigh on Tuesday, leading Class C-1, No. 8 Logan View/Scribner-Snyder to a 67-39 home win over the Patriots.

Moxness scored a game-high 26 points and Polk added 19 points for the Raiders (19-2).

Daniel Beller scored 11 points to lead Clarkson/Leigh (3-15).

LV/S-S led 20-12 after the first quarter and 38-21 at halftime. It was 52-30 after the third quarter.

The Patriots host Stanton on Thursday.
