OSCEOLA — Osceola bounced back from a season-opening loss to top-ranked Bruning-Davenport/Shickley and hammered Mead at home Friday night.

The Bulldogs racked up 364 total yards, including 329 on the ground, in the 60-12 victory.

Senior Caden Theis led the offensive onslaught with 133 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just 12 carries. He also completed his only pass attempt for a 35-yard touchdown.

Brennan Bryan, another senior, carried the ball nine times for 101 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs, who also got a rushing TD from freshman Carson Watts.

Senior Garrett Fischer led Osceola with 10 tackles, and Theis and sophomore Carter Boden recorded interceptions.

The Bulldogs (1-1) play Friday at Nebraska Lutheran.

St. Francis 80,

Elkhorn Valley 0

TILDEN — Fifth-ranked Humphrey St. Francis poured it on Friday night against Elkhorn Valley.

The Flyers scored 38 points in the first quarter en route to an 80-0 victory in Tilden.

Taylor Wemhoff carried the ball just nine times, but three went for touchdowns, including a 20-yard scamper.

Austin Leifeld and Jarrett Weidner both had a pair of rushing touchdowns for St. Francis, which led 56-0 at halftime, and Pierce Eisenmenger and Evan Foltz each ran one in.

Trevor Pfeifer, who went 3 of 3 passing for 41 yards, hooked up with Nolan Kosch on a 13-yard touchdown.

St. Francis (2-0) hosts Wynot on Friday.

DC West 47,

David City 14

DAVID CITY — David City started strong Friday night against Douglas County West, but the Falcons scored 34 points in the second and third quarters to pull away for a 47-14 win.

Josh Seibert hauled in a 29-yard touchdown pass from Will Danielson to give the Scouts a 7-0 lead after the first quarter, but David City struggled to generate any other offense.

Danielson completed just 4 of 18 passes in the game for 71 yards. Justin White was the leading rusher for the Scouts with 33 yards on 13 carries. David City mustered only 154 yards of total offense in the game.

DC West rolled up 475 rushing yards in the win.

Cavan Navrkal scored David City’s other touchdown late in the fourth quarter on a 15-yard pass from Dylan Vadicka.

David City (0-2) hits the road next week to take on Milford-Dorchester.

Hartington CC 37,

Shelby-Rising City 14

SHELBY — Shelby-Rising City couldn’t contain Hartington Cedar Catholic running back Jacob Keiser and it finally burned the Huskies in the fourth quarter.

Keiser scored three fourth-quarter TDs as the Trojans pulled away for a 37-14 road win Friday night. He finished with 295 rushing yards and scored all five TDs for Cedar Catholic.

The Huskies kept it close through three quarters. After Cedar Catholic went up 14-0 in the second quarter, Lincoln Schoenrock scampered 57 yards for a TD to cut the lead to 14-6 at halftime.

After the Trojans tacked on a field goal in the third quarter, Jett Pinneo found Max Hoatson from 8 yards out to make it a 17-14 game entering the fourth.

Keiser quickly put the game away.

Schoenrock finished with 102 yards on the ground while Pinneo threw for 208.

Shelby-Rising City hosts Lutheran High Northeast on Friday.

Guardian Angels CC 62,

Clarkson/Leigh 18

WEST POINT — Clarkson/Leigh was no match for Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Friday night.

The Bluejays raced past the Patriots 62-18 in West Point.

Anthony Bruhn and Tommy McEvoy accounted for all three Clarkson/Leigh TDs.

Bruhn scored on a 45-yard run and McEvoy on a 49-yard run. The duo then hooked up for a 28-yard TD pass from Bruhn to McEvoy.

Bruhn finished the game with 67 rushing yards while McEvoy ran for 78.

The Patriots play Friday at Omaha Nation.

Lutheran High NE 43,

Twin River 0

NORFOLK — Lutheran High Northeast’s defense stifled Twin River on Friday night.

The Eagles allowed just 67 yards of total offense in a 43-0 home victory.

The Titans managed only 13 rushing yards on 31 carries. Jamison Urkoski had four catches for 27 yards.

Twin River (0-2) plays at Hartington Cedar Catholic on Friday.
