SHELBY — Shelby-Rising City won on its home field Friday for the first time this season.
Mason Schleis passed for 240 yards, ran for 95 more and accounted for four touchdowns in the Huskies’ 42-13 victory over Fillmore Central. Schleis also had 98 return yards.
Grant Lindsley added 88 yards on the ground and a couple of scores. Schleis connected on 14 of 22 passes and threw TDs to Jett Pinneo and Max Hoatson, who had seven catches for 109 yards in the game.
Schleis also returned a kickoff for a touchdown in the third quarter, capping the scoring in the game.
S-RC led 28-7 at halftime before scoring twice in the third quarter to put the game away.
The Huskies (2-4) play Friday at Centennial.
NELIGH — Anthony Bruhn ran for 118 yards and four touchdowns Friday to lead Clarkson/Leigh to a 36-20 win over Neligh-Oakdale.
The Patriots trailed 14-12 at halftime and led 20-14 after three quarters, then outscored the Warriors 16-6 in the final quarter to put the game away.
Bruhn also threw for 77 yards, completing 7 of 16 passes. Hector Mendoza added 81 rushing yards and Tommy McEvoy ran for 54 yards and a score and had 58 receiving yards.
Clarkson/Leigh (2-3) plays Elgin Public/Pope John on Friday.
St. Francis 74,
HUMPHREY — Humphrey St. Francis ran for eight touchdowns Friday night, including three by Jarrett Weidner, while delivering a 74-6 whipping to Scribner-Snyder (0-6).
The Flyers, 5-0 and ranked No. 5 in Class D-2, led 54-0 at halftime of the home contest.
Weidner, who finished with 123 yards on 13 carries, had touchdown runs of 4, 7 and 46 yards in the opening half.
St. Francis quarterback Trevor Pfeifer only had to throw the ball twice, completing one of the attempts for a 13-yard first-quarter touchdown to Nolan Kosch, and Pfeifer also found the end zone on a 1-yard run to get the scoring started.
Nathan Weidner returned a punt 40 yards for a TD and Justin Leifeld capped the first-half scoring with an 11-yard run.
Austin Leifeld, Justin Leifeld and Sebastion Arnold added second-half touchdown runs for the Flyers, who play Friday at Osceola.
OSCEOLA — Osceola picked up a big win at home Friday night.
The Bulldogs (3-3) took down Class D-2, No. 9 and previously unbeaten Fullerton (5-1) to boost their playoff resume.
Senior quarterback Caden Theis led the Osceola attack in the 38-12 victory. He rushed for 202 yards on 35 carries and completed 3 of 5 passes for 116 yards while totaling four touchdowns.
Theis averaged 38.7 yards per completion with all three hookups going for scores to fellow senior Garrett Fisher.
Osceola rushed for 388 yards on 56 carries, including 87 yards and a TD on just six attempts for Fisher and 71 yards on 11 attempts for senior Brennan Bryan.
The three seniors accounted for all but 28 of Osceola's 504 total yards.
Theis also led the defense with 12 tackles and junior Brody Ienn picked off a Fullerton pass.
Osceola has another test next Friday when it hosts No. 5 St. Francis.
Cross County 7
STROMSBURG — Sutton blasted Cross County on Friday, scoring 46 points in the first half on its way to a 74-7 victory over the Cougars.
The Mustangs, ranked No. 8 in Class C-2, rolled up 603 yards and averaged almost 15 yards per play in the win.
Grant Hollinger rushed for 31 yards and a score and passed for 137 yards for Cross County. Landen Berck added 50 rushing yards and Kalin Gabriel had 65 receiving yards.
The Cougars (0-6) play Friday at Fillmore Central.
