COLUMBUS — Norfolk swept the Columbus High boys tennis team 9-0 Monday at Pawnee Park.

Alex Uhlig lost to Norfolk’s Jesus Mejia-Melchor 8-6 at No. 2 singles in the closest match of the day. Uhlig and Adam Kamrath fell 8-2 at No. 1 singles.

Kamrath lost his No. 1 singles match 8-0 to Parker Hansen.

Columbus High's Grant Stadler and Coden Prokopec lost at No. 3 and No. 5 singles, respectively, each by 8-3 scores. Colin Flyr went down 8-2 to the Panthers’ Mason Borgman at No. 4 singles and Joe Massman was defeated 8-1 at No. 6 singles.

Stadler and Flyr lost their No. 2 doubles match 8-2 while Massman and Prokopec fell 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.

The Discoverers return to the court Thursday for the Class A state tournament in Omaha.
