GENOA — Twin River managed to fit three softball games in Thursday despite consistent rain showers.
The Titans went 2-1 in the C-5 district tournament, staying alive to make it to the final day of the tournament.
Twin River (21-13) beat Blue Hill 12-0 in the opening round of play before losing 11-2 to Fillmore Central/Exeter-Milligan and dropping to the consolation bracket. The Titans beat Polk County 15-3 in an elimination game to advance to Saturday, when they’ll begin the day against Central City.
Twin River must win four games Saturday to make it back to the state tournament.
Emilee Spitz threw a one-hitter against Blue Hill as the Titans ended that game in three innings. Erin Cook tossed a two-hitter against Polk County in another three-inning contest.
Katie Paczosa and Lana Hebda led Twin River offensively. Paczosa finished the three games 5 for 8 with four runs scored and five RBIs while Hebda was 4 for 8 with two runs scored and five RBIs.
