The City of Columbus has a current job opening and
is accepting applications for the position of a fulltime
Communications Director at the Communications
Center. The Communication Center dispatch’s for the
City of Columbus and Platte County and has goals of
growing to serve a larger region.
This is supervisory and communications work in the
management of a public safety communications center.
Work includes the administration and coordination of
the public safety computer systems and performance
of a variety of record keeping tasks related to
communications and public safety records. Direct and
oversee the 24 hour operation of the Communications
Center; manage the operations of the enhanced 911
system for multiple jurisdictions.
Degree in business management, computer science
or related field or significant relevant work experience.
Must possess at least three years’ experience as a
public safety communications specialist (including
computer aided dispatch and E911 systems).
Pay Range is $74,108 – $103,786 annually and offers
a competitive benefit package.
