Margaret Lea Korinek, 83, years, of Lincoln, Nebraska, formerly of Fremont, Nebraska, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at Papillion Manor.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in David City. The Rev. Father Bernard Kimminau will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, and Monday one hour prior to the service at the church in David City. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in David City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont or St. Mary’s Catholic Church in David City.

Margaret Lea was born May 5, 1934 in David City, to Philip J. and Dorothy L. (Moran) Schlentz.
She grew up in David City and was a 1952 graduate of David City High School. She lived in Lincoln, , Lyons, Ulysses, Wahoo, Omaha, and Fremont, moving to Lincoln in 2008. Lea married Dennis Korinek on June 7, 1954 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in David City. They later divorced. She worked at Fremont National Bank in Fremont (now First National Bank) as an executive secretary.
Lea was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. She enjoyed shopping and being very fashionable. She also loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by daughters, Diane and husband, Mark Johnson of Omaha, twins, Denise Korinek and Kimberley Smith of Lincoln, and Karen and husband, Ray Filipowicz of Omaha; son, Kurt and wife, Diana Korinek of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; siblings, John Schlentz of San Diego, Calif., Nancy Erisman of Lincoln, Pat and wife, Beth Schlentz of Omaha, and Mike Schlentz of Red Wing, Minn.; grandchildren, Kasey and husband, Corey Ayers and Skyler Korinek; great grandchildren, Lola, Max, and Stella Ayers; and several nieces and nephews including Sara Bongers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jean Schlentz and Susan and husband, Alfred Bongers; grandparents, William and Anna Moran and Mathilda and John Schlentz; and nieces, Kelly Erisman and Erin Erisman.
