Central earns recognition
GRAND ISLAND -- The Veterans and Military Resource Center (VRMC) at Central Community College has been ranked No. 1 on the Military Times Best Colleges list.
The announcement marks the fifth consecutive year CCC has garnered the top spot among two-year colleges. CCC has VMRCs at its Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings campuses and Kearney Center, which serve as one-stop shops for veterans, service members and their dependents seeking information about VA education benefits and resource assistance. The centers also serve as dedicated space for veterans to study and gather on campus, and have devoted staff members to address their specific needs. CCC has four active student veterans associations that engage in advocacy and education concerning veterans’ challenges and whose members volunteer in an array of community service opportunities.
