Family, Career and Community Leaders of America

The David City High School chapter of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America attended a national conference in Louisville, Kentucky from Nov. 8 to Nov. 10. Participating members included Kennen Robinson, back-left, Braxton Small, Sidney Soukup, Madison Soukup, Jaymee Lee, Maci Dion, Kaitlyn Palik, front-left, Chloe Zegers, Raevin Lewis, Miranda Stearns and Bryanna McAuley. 

Several students from David City High School’s chapter of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America attended a national conference recently.

Kennen Robinson, Braxton Small, Sidney Soukup, Madison Soukup, Jaymee Lee, Maci Dion, Kaitlyn Palik, Chloe Zegers, Raevin Lewis, Miranda Stearns and Bryanna McAuley participated in activities and workshops at the FCCLA National Cluster Meetings in Louisville, Kentucky from Nov. 8 to Nov. 10. They were accompanied by student adviser Isabel Small and group adviser Tonya Zegers.

Over 2,300 students and advisers from around the country attended the event and competed in different demonstrations of skill or challenges at the conference, according to press release from Zegers. The David City students also got the chance to visit the Derby Museum and the Louisville Sluggers Factory.

This year three students from David City were in the winner’s circle in their events. Braxton Small received third place in Consumer Math Skills at the Junior level, Raevin Lewis received second place in the Toy that Teach Senior division and first place was awarded to Chloe Zegers in #TeachFCS in the Junior level.
