Shelby-Rising City Schools service project

Shelby-Rising City Schools senior class recently participated in a service project at Mercy Meals in Norfolk. Students volunteered to help package boxes of food that will be sent overseas in conjunction with the Orphan Grain Train, a Christian volunteer network that distributes food to people in 67 different countries.

According to an email principal Bill Curry sent to The Banner-Press, the project meets a newly adopted graduation requirement where students have to complete a service project as a class. The requirement was adopted by the school board over the summer.
