Area youth win VFW contests

DAVID CITY -- Larry Sabata, Commander of the David City VFW and his wife Ann Sabata, VFW Auxiliary President, recently presented awards to the winners of this year’s Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen Essay contests.

The first place winner of the Voice of Democracy contest will go on to the district contest in Schuyler on Dec. 1.

The top essays of the Patriot's Pen contest from each school were sent to the district level of competition. The winner at the district level will advance to state.
