Darlene E. (Hodges) McClure
Darlene E. (Hodges) McClure, 82, widow of George McClure of David City, died Monday evening, April 22, 2019.
She was cremated as she wished, and will be celebrated by her family and friends at a time around her birthday in September, 2019 to be announced.
Darlene was born September, 1936, at Andover, Iowa, to David and Edna Hodges. She raised five sons: Dennis Skretta of Seattle, Washington, Darwin Skretta of Concord, North Carolina, Dana Skretta of David City, David Skretta of Lochbuie, Colorado, and Mel McClure of Ashland.
Darlene is survived by her five sons; her brother, William Hodges of Sierra Vista, Arizona; sisters, Donna Cook of Aumsville, Oregon, Melvina Coalbank of Vista, California, and Jackie Coleman of Ash Grove, Missouri; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her parents David and Edna, and George, her husband of 27 years preceded her in death.
Darlene left a quote written in her hand in her bible that reads, “Remember me with smiles and laughter. If you remember me with tears – don't remember me at all! As always, Mom”.
