Evelyn Hoeft, 88, of David City, died Monday, April 29, 2019, at her home.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in David City, with the Rev. David Palomaki officiating.
Evelyn was born Jan. 18, 1931, in David City to Gene and Eloine (Bock) From. She graduated from David City High School, and on April 5, 1949, she married Norval Hoeft in Wahoo. They lived in David City, where they raised their family. Evelyn worked in the restaurant business including Kozy Lunch, the Hotel and the Donut Shop in David City. She especially loved following all activities of her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and taking care of her flower garden. Evelyn was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Evelyn is survived by two sons, Bob (Vickie) Hoeft of Lee Summit, Missouri, and Rod (Denise) Hoeft of David City; two daughters, Pam (Craig) Stephens of Lighthouse Point, Florida, and Penny (Steve) Hohnholt of Smithville, Missouri; one sister, Shirley Noonan of Lincoln; two brothers, Lloyd (Geri) From of Lincoln and Roland (Beverly) From "on the road"; six grandchildren: Chadd (Suzi) Hoeft, Anne (Eric) Johnston, Aaron (Anna) Hoeft, Derek (Crissa) Hoeft, Ashley Hoeft and Tiffany Hohnholt; nine great-grandchildren: Drew and Campbell Hoeft, Allison, Brenden, Taven, Mason and Daxton Hoeft, Michael and David Hohnholt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norval; a sister, Delores; and one brother, Melvin From.
