Kenneth L. Chapek, 72, of Bruno, died Saturday, March 2, 2019, at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bruno. A parish rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, at the church. Burial will be March 7 at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Church or Bruno VFD.
Kenneth Lee Chapek was born on March 3, 1946, to Adolph and Sally (Skoda) Chapek in Wahoo. Kenny was a long time self-employed truck driver. He was a member of the Bruno VFD and St. Anthony's Church. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching and attending race car events, and spending time with his family. He was a past member of the Nebraska National Guard. Kenny married Glenna Allen on Aug. 19, 1977, in Lincoln.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Glenna; mother, Sally Chapek of Bruno; daughters, Deb (Warren) Jensen of Norfolk, Laurie (David) Hill of Goldsboro, North Carolina, and Julie Devlin of Wilmington, North Carolina; sister, Kathy Ptacek of Bruno; sister-in-law, Gail Chapek; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Adolph; step-daughter, Tami Leiting-Hall; brother, Adrian Chapek; and brother-in-law, Louis Ptacek.
