MONDAY - BLUE RIVER 12, NORTH BEND CENTRAL 4: After starting out the season with two losses, Blue River responded with a 10-4 win on Monday on the road. 

Kira Pavlik scored in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead and Alexa Carter hit in another run in the bottom of the second. 

Allie Neujahr tripled in two runs in the third and scored on a wild pitch to take a 5-0 lead. The Panthers added one more run, later in the third, to take a 6-0 lead. 

North Bend scored once in the fourth and three times in the sixth to close the gap to 6-4  before Blue River scored six in the sixth to take a 12-4 lead an seal the victory. 

Blue River's next game is at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in a home game against Douglas County West. 

SATURDAY - WYMORE SOUTHERN 4, AQUINAS 2: Aquinas lost its season opener on Saturday in Wymong, after Wymore Southern got off to an early lead with a run in the first inning. 

The Raiders extended the advantage with two in the third, but the Monarchs responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third to close the gap to 3-2.

The Raiders scored an insurance run in the fifth and held on to the 4-2 lead. 

AUG. 22 - TWIN RIVER 7, BLUE RIVER 1 - Twin River took a 5-0 lead in the first two innings, and led 7-0 after two runs in the top of the sixth.

Blue River managed one run in the bottom of the sixth, but couldn't complete the rally.

"Aspyn Harrison threw a decent enough game, just a few mental mistakes in the field and a few errors cost us early," said head coach Greg Jahde in comments. "Aspyn was 3-3 with one RBI." 

AUG. 22 - SCHUYLER 14, BLUE RIVER 10 - Blue River out hit Schuyler 12-9, but multiple walks and five errors spelled trouble.
