David City golf hosted its first home dual of the season and delivered some payback to a familiar foe. The Scouts, who had struggled against Columbus Lakeview the past few times out, took down the Vikings rather easily.
David City's total was 32 shots better as the Scouts earned a 183-215 victory.
"It feels good," said David City head coach Tom VanWinkle. "I think Lakeview has beat us the last three or four years. It's good to be able to compete and to play decent at home. A few of our kids left some shots out there as they're getting into the flow of the season."
Will Danielson shot a 39 to lead all players.
"Will has been a good player for every one of his high school years," VanWinkle said. "He's struggled a little bit early on. Last week we had two invites and he struggled a little bit in both of those. It's good to see that he's rounding into form. I'm excited to see what happens in the next month or so."
Jordan Kracl placed second with a 43, Keyan Helgoth tied for third with a 49.
Ethan Zegers carded a 52 for sixth and Wiley Hein shot 53 to tie for seventh.
Lakeview's top score came from Jaden Johnson who shot a 49.
David City is next in action hosting Wahoo Neumann and Seward in a triangular at 4:30 p.m. on April 16 at the David City Golf Course following a tournament on April 10.
