With the playoffs hanging in the balance, East Butler left no doubt about where it would be spending Halloween night.
The Tigers scored the first 66 points of the game, Wade Wright scored five touchdowns and rushed for 161 yards and East Butler evened up its mark at 4-4 with a 74-22 shellacking of Omaha Brownell Talbot.
It was a 28-0 lead after the first quarter before the Tigers poured on 38 more points over the next 12 minutes and removed any drama from the final two quarters.
Wright averaged 13.4 yards per carry, Austin Pierce averaged 10.6 and the Tiger defense forced five turnovers, four on interceptions. It was a 74-6 game before Brownell Talbot scored the final two touchdowns in garbage time.
East Butler, which was in the playoffs before the win, though just barely, made the postseason a certainty with the win. Now the Tigers will travel to face third seeded Elmwood-Murdock as the 14 seed in the first round on Halloween night.
Wright opened the scoring with a 27-yard run and 5-yard run, Austin Pierce scored on a 17-yard pick-six then Trevin Brecka caught a 16-yard touchdown from Josh Malina, all in the first quarter.

Second-quarter points included Wright scoring from 58 and 32, Brecka catching a 24-yard score, Wright carrying for 14 then Pierce for 14. Pierce completed East Butler scoring with a 31-yard touchdown run in the third followed by Wright's two-point conversion.
