Mason Schleis and Alison Nekl had another big day with three medals apiece, eight total Huskies won medals in multiple events and Shelby-Rising City track and field was second overall in the final team standings on April 1 at Fullteron.
Humphrey-St. Francis took the team total with 161.50 points followed by SRC just 6.5 points back.
The Huskies won a total of six gold medals, three in field events and three on the track split between two individual and one relay. In total, SRC collected a top-six finish 27 times.
Multiple event medalists included Schleis, Austin Coffin, Wyatt Whitmore, Colin Wingard and Nick Vavricek for the boys and Nekl, Kira Pavlik and Kamryn Pokorney for the girls.
Schleis won the triple jump with a final mark of 40 feet, 3 and 3/4 inches, was second in the 400 meters in a time of 52.96 seconds and took fourth in the long jump with top leap of 19-6.76.
Nekl won the 400 in 1:04.43, the 300 hurdles in 51.55 and the high jump with a best mark of 4-10. Second place completed the same height but on the third attempt compared to two for Nekl.
Coffin was the runner-up in the 100 and fifth in the 200, Whitmore took third in the 300 hurdles and fourth in the 110 lows, Wingard won the discus at 135-7, almost 16 feet better than second place, and was fifth in the shot put and Vavricek was third in the discus and sixth in the shot put.
Pavlik was third in the pole vault and fourth in the triple jump while Pokorney took third in the discus and fourth in the shot put.
SRC had a meet in Osceola on Tuesday and is next in action on April 18.
