After getting swept in a triangular on Oct. 18, losing to Milford and Centennial, David City volleyball went undefeated in its own tournament on Saturday, sweeping three teams out of the gym.
The Scouts took down Weeping Water by set scores of 25-12 and 25-20, Boys Town by 25-10 and 25-5 and Wilber-Clatonia 22-25, 25-5 and 25-11.
David City wraps up the regular season 13-16 and now prepares for sub-district postseason play on Oct. 29 in Shelby against a three-team field that includes David City Aquinas, Wahoo and Wahoo Neumann.
The Aquinas Monarchs volleyball team went 1-2 the in the Lincoln Christian invite on Saturday.
The Monarchs won their first match against Auburn 25-22 and 25-21, but then were defeated by Lincoln Lutheran 25-13 and 25-14 and then fell to Thayer Central 25-20 and 25-20.
Aquinas wrapped up the regular season Tuesday at Grand Island Central Catholic. Following the match with the Crusaders is the sub-district round in Shelby.
On Oct. 16, Shelby-Rising City defeated Cross County in two sets winning 25-15 and 25-19.
Jordie Nekl led the Huskies in kills with 10, Clare Kohl was perfect on 10 serves, Jamie Hopwood tallied 15 digs to lead SRC and Jenna Nekl recorded 17 assists.
S-RC wrapped up the regular season with a match Tuesday against Exeter-Milligan then a triangular on Thursday at North Bend against the hosts and Madison.
The Huskies begin the postseason on Oct. 29 in a sub-district that includes Utica Centennial, Cross County and East Butler.
The Tigers were idle over the past week. East Butler returns to action in the Central City sub-district on Monday.
