David City golf was finally able to make it out on the golf course on April 1 when the Scotus placed second at the Plattsmouth Invite.

David City competed alongside five other teams - Omaha Roncalli, Wahoo, Platteview, Plattsmouth and Yutan.

Roncalli won the invite with a score of 373, but the Scouts were right behind with a score of 384.

"I thought the boys played well despite seeing a very difficult course for the first time," said head coach Tom Van Winkle in comments sent to The Banner-Press. "This is the first annual invite at Bay Hills at Plattsmouth.

"It was good for our golfers to see the importance of course management and the need to improve their short games. I am excited to see how we can much we can improve as a team in the month and a half we have left."

David City had three golfers place inside the top ten. Ethan Zegers scored a 97 to place 10th and Will Danielson and Jordan Kraci both carded a 93 to finish tied for third.
