Charles H. Vrba, 94, of Schuyler, died Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at david place in David City.

It was the desire of Charles that private family services be held.

Charles was born April 4, 1925, in Schuyler, to Joseph F. and Mayme (Horak) Vrba. He attended Fisher School and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1942. He entered the United States Army and served near the end of WWII. On Feb. 11, 1953, he married Elaine Pieper at Tabor. They lived and farmed north of Schuyler and Charles loved raising cattle.

Charles is survived by two daughters: Jacilyn Joaquin and Cindy (Rick) Olsen, both of Omaha; two sons: Charles J. and Robert (Darli) Vrba, all of Schuyler; five grandchildren: Joseph, Samantha, Ben and Jerry Vrba and McKayla Olsen; two great-grandchildren: Henry and William Vrba. Also surviving are his brother, Thomas Vrba of Pennsylvania and sister, Pat May of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son-in-law, John Joaquin; six sisters: Alice Loseke, Norma Kittman, Agnes Lueke, Vlasta Vrba, Barbara Evans, Helen Payzant and two brothers; Lambert and Joe Vrba, Jr.
