The Columbus City Council’s 7 p.m. Monday meeting isn’t expected to be out of the ordinary, however, its agenda does indicate several happenings.
The public hearing portion of the meeting will include the application of Ernst Realty LLC for a final plat and subdivision agreement of S&E Subdivision at 2014, 2112 and 2118 23rd St. The city’s Planning Commission recommends the approval of amended plat to remove ingress and egress easements. The land, where The Oasis used to be, is expected to become the future home of a Sonic Drive-In, as previously reported by The Columbus Telegram.
Also to be considered is an application of Pedro and Juana Del Orona for a special use permit to allow alternative energy production devices (solar panels) in an ‘R2(b)’ with an agricultural overlay (Urban Family Residential District) zone at 1917 2 St. (the Planning Commission recommends approval).
New business highlights include consideration of an application from Granville Custom Homes for a preliminary plat of Armory Subdivision located north and west of the intersection of Armory and Kozy drives (the Planning Commission recommends approval).
The City Council will also take a look at two resolutions. The first is for approving a program agreement with Union Pacific Railroad Company and the State of Nebraska Department of Transportation for construction of the 12th Avenue viaduct. The other is for approving an agreement with Kendig Keast Collaborative for hourly reimbursable expenses not to exceed $144,610 for development of a new Land Development Ordinance.
The meeting will take place in the City Council Chambers, 1369 25th Ave.
