The man killed in a crash on Interstate 80 near Greenwood on Monday morning has been identified as a 24-year-old Lincoln resident.

At 8 a.m., Travis Egan lost control of his westbound Honda Civic, crossed the median and the vehicle rolled, State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas said.

Egan was thrown from the car and was hit by an eastbound Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, Thomas said.

Other travelers stopped and performed first aid before rescue crews arrived, but Egan died at the scene.

The Jeep's driver was unharmed.

Authorities closed the interstate's eastbound lanes from Waverly to Greenwood for approximately four hours as they investigated the crash.
