A head-on crash Friday night southwest of Gretna left one woman dead and another man in critical condition.
At 10:02 p.m., the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office and Gretna Fire and Rescue responded to the area of U.S. 6 near Pflug Road after a 2014 Ford Fusion traveling west on U.S. 6 attempted to pass another vehicle and collided head-on with an eastbound 2007 Hyundai Entourage minivan, according to a Sarpy County Sheriff's Office news release.
The driver of the Ford Fusion, 18-year-old Claire Kresak of Ashland, was unresponsive at the scene and was transported in critical condition to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha via medical helicopter.

Kresak died Saturday evening as a result of her injuries.
The driver of the Hyundai Entourage, 44-year-old Jeffrey Johnson of Ashland, was also transported to Nebraska Medicine in critical injuries but is expected to survive, according to the sheriff's office.
