Polk business sells to minor
GRAND ISLAND — During the evening hours of Friday, March 1, investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol conducted alcohol inspections in York and Polk Counties. In Polk County, one business sold alcohol to a minor (Coaches Corner – Polk, checked ID, sold to minor).
Businesses that sell alcohol to a minor are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor.

Platte County Sheriff's Report
On March 1, an individual called into the Platte County Sheriff's Office to report his or her child had stolen money from their home and left. On March 2, the parent reported the male juvenile missing. Sheriff Ed Wemhoff said the investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.
On March 2, it was reported about $400 worth of items including a blue kayak, a craftsman brand floor jack and grease guns were taken from a storage shed in rural Columbus. Wemhoff asked for anyone with information on the theft to call the Platte County Sheriff's Office at 402-564-3229 or Platte County Area Crime Stoppers at 402-563-4000.
Conrad Newman of Columbus was arrested on an outstanding warrant March 2. Terry Hemmer of Humphrey was arrested for third-degree domestic assault on March 3.
