Trailer stolen from Ag Park
A call was made to The Platte County Sheriff’s Office at 3:20 p.m reporting a stolen trailer from Ag Park at 822 15th St. The venue is home to horse racing and the Platte County Fair.
The trailer’s estimated value is $2,500 with it’s contents worth $500, according to Platte County Sheriff Ed Wemhoff. The report did not describe the type of trailer or its contents.
Burglar steals firearm from home
The Platte County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary at 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday at a home located a few miles north of Monroe.
The homeowner discovered a door to his/her residence was open upon his/her return and the home had appeared to have been gone through, according to the sheriff. The report stated a $4,000 worth of firearms and other equipment were taken, but did not specify further.
Kitten gets new home
At 9:33 p.m. on Tuesday, a call went in to the the Platte County Sheriff’s Office reporting a, abandoned kitten had been found near the ADM facility located at 3000 E. 8th St. The sheriff said the kitten has since been housed at the Paws and Claws adoption center in Columbus.
