Alma J. Krejci, 80, of Seward, formerly of Schuyler, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, at the Ridgewood Rehab and Care Center in Seward.

A funeral service is being held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, at First Presbyterian Church in Schuyler with The Rev. Sarah Gengler officiating. Visitation is being held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Kracl Funeral Chapel in Schuyler, as well as one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Lunch will follow in the church fellowship hall following the funeral service. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church.

Alma was born April 12, 1939, in Swett, South Dakota, to Leonard and Marie (Budin) Shuster. She moved to Schuyler at the age of 2 with her family, where she was an active member of the girl scouts. She attended school in Schuyler and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1956. She then attended the Lincoln Beauty College. On Nov. 12, 1959, Alma was united in marriage to Gerald A. Krejci at the First Presbyterian Church in Schuyler. Gerald was a farmer and Alma ran a beauty shop out of her home on the farm for 30 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a Sunday school teacher there for over 20 years.

Alma is survived by her husband Gerald of Seward, son Gary (Alisa) Krejci of Jenks, Oklahoma; daughter Karen (Todd) Thege of Seward. Grandchildren and spouses, Kayla and Erin Thege, Tyler (Kayelon) Schurr, Miranda (Bryan) Weitzenkamp, three great grandchildren, Coralee, Olive and Forest Schurr. Sisters Arlene Svoboda of Washington, Shirley Langhorst of Howells. Brother-in-law Frank J. Vrba of Seward. She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in-law Jerry (Elsie) Krejci. Sisters and spouses, DeLores (Lee) Horky, Elaine (Ed) Koliha, Opal (Steve) Navrkal, Nadine (Clifford) Hunteman. Brothers-in-law Jim Svoboda and Norbert Langhorst, sister-in-law AnnMarie Vrba. Great-granddaughter Opal Grace Schurr and infant nephew Dale Koliha.
