Anita Olson, 87, of Gretna, formerly of Columbus, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at Silver Ridge Assisted Living in Gretna.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, at Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus, with the Rev. Michael Klatt and Rev. Cory Burma officiating. Private family interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Gass Haney Funeral Home, and will continue from 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church, Concordia University in Seward, or the donor's choice.
Anita Olson was born Jan.7, 1932, in Platte County, to Carl and Elizabeth (Schafer) Loseke. She attended Immanuel Country School, District 12, Immanuel Lutheran (city) School, and graduated from Kramer High School in 1950. She worked at the hospital in Columbus prior to her marriage to Howard Olson on Sept. 7, 1952. The couple moved to Minnesota where they farmed for nine years and returned to Columbus in 1962. Anita was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, gardening, flowers, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, reading, volunteering at Columbus Community Hospital, and spending time with her family. She was member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Anita is survived by son, Keith Olson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; son, Les (Jana) Olson of Gretna; son, Vern Olson of Guthrie, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Greta Kovar of Staplehurst.
Anita was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Elizabeth Loseke; son, Jeffrey Olson; sister, Cordula “Corky” Johannes; brother, Roger Loseke.
