David (Dave) Eisenmenger, 74, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Columbus Community Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, with a 7 p.m. vigil service at St. Bonaventure Church. Visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m. Friday morning at the church. Burial will be in the All Saints Cemetery, with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Memorials may be directed St. Bonaventure Church.
Dave was born to Ralph and Eleanor (Foltz) Eisenmenger on March 13, 1944, in Humphrey. He attended the seminary from 1958–60, and graduated in 1962 from St. Francis High School. Dave was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard from October of 1963 – April of 1964. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church for 52 years, and also served as an usher. He operated Dave's Mobile Home Service, managed M & H Gas Station and Derby Station, and operated D & K Enterprises until his retirement in 2011. Dave was a handyman and always had a project to work on or build. He was always there to help his family, no matter what the need was, and loved working in his “man cave.”
He is survived by wife, Karen Eisenmenger of Columbus; daughter, Tonya (Jeremy) Davis and granddaughter, Jasmin Davis of Columbus; son, Richard Eisenmenger of Columbus; grandson, Tim (Lindsay) Eisenmenger of Nashua, Iowa and great-granddaughters, Sophie and Katelyn; grandson, Matt Eisenmenger of Ogden, Utah; sisters, Elaine (Virg) Chochon of Columbus, Helen (Junior) Weidner of Humphrey, Alice Labenz of Humphrey, Leona Hastreiter of Lincoln, Mary Lou Nienaber of Lindsay, Phyllis Albright of Bellevue; brothers, Paul (Jody) Eisenmenger of Humphrey, Erv (Elaine) Eisenmenger of West Point, Larry (Mary) Eisenmenger of McCook; sister-in-law, Elaine Eisenmenger of Humphrey; brother-in-law, Erv Zach of Genoa.
He was preceded by death by parents, Ralph and Eleanor Eisenmenger; infant daughter, Lisa Eisenmenger; brother, Lenny Eisenmenger; sisters, Dorothy Shanle and Marge Zach; brothers-in-law, Ed Albright, Vic Labenz, Gene Hastreiter, Harry Nienaber, Alvin Shanle.
