Donald Cromwell

Donald Cromwell, 85, of Genoa, died Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at his home in Genoa.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 29, at Augustana Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Myron Meyer officiating. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery with military honors by Edward H. Larson Post 144 American Legion Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, at Augustana Lutheran Church, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday at the church with a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Augustana Lutheran Church, Genoa Medical Facilities, or donor's choice.

Donald Cromwell was born on Aug. 28, 1933, in Genoa, to Lester and Elvera (Burke) Cromwell. He graduated from Genoa High School in 1950. He farmed all of his life. Don served in the United States Army from 1956-1958, stationed in Germany. On May 1, 1960, Donald was united in marriage to Connie Boss in Genoa.

Don was a lifelong member of Augustana Lutheran Church, where he served many years on the church council. He was a 4-H leader and served on several country school boards. Don was a charter member of Heritage Power Tractor Association.

Don is survived by wife, Connie Cromwell of Genoa; daughter, Deb (Mark) Hartman of Schuyler; daughter, Carmen Andreasen of Genoa; grandson, Tyson (Staci) Andreasen of Norfolk; granddaughter, Audrey (Jason) Pollreisz of Hadar; granddaughter, Amanda Hartman (Eric Dalaviras) of Atkinson; four great-grandchildren: Anthony and Paisley Andreasen, Addison and Wyatt Pollreisz; brother, Duane (Jackie) Cromwell of Louisiana; brother, Gayle (Vera) Cromwell of Columbus; sister, Dorothy (Ike) Anderson of Genoa; brother, John (Janell) Cromwell of Columbus; brother, Ken (Vicki) Cromwell of Genoa; brother-in-law, Jack Boss of Yakima, Washington; many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by parents, Lester and Elvera Cromwell.
