HOWELLS — Donna Marie Eusterweimann, 81, of Howells, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at her home in Howells.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells with Fr. Stan Schmitt celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, with a 7 p.m. rosary, at the church. Visitation will continue from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Clarkson Catholic Cemetery in Clarkson. Memorials may be those of the donor's choice.
Donna Eusterweimann was born March 8, 1936, in Clarkson to Lumir and Mary (Sedlacek) Barta. She graduated from Clarkson High School in 1953 and began teaching school that same fall. On Aug. 9, 1955, Donna was united in marriage to Raymond Brabec at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Howells. She later married Marvin Stevens on Aug. 2, 1986, at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson. On July 1, 2005, Donna married Walter Eusterweimann at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
Through the years, Donna taught school and raised her children, and at the same time took night classes at Wayne State Teachers College where she earned her teaching degree. Donna taught school for almost 50 years, retiring in 2002, but continued substitute teaching for many years. Donna loved the farm life where she could care for her cats, dogs and chickens, and enjoy the wild birds. She enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, dancing and watching the Huskers. Donna ran the Clarkson Swimming Pool and a detasseling crew for many years. She was a kindhearted soul and influenced the lives of many children over the years. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
Donna is survived by her husband Walter Eusterweimann of Howells; son Keith (Pam) Brabec of Clarkson; son Dan (Esther) Brabec of Omaha; daughter Pam (Randy) Sundby of Omaha; son Jeff (Sheila) Brabec of Prescott, Arizona; son Jim Brabec of Olathe, Kansas; daughter Rebecca (Todd) Vandehei of Huntington Beach, California; daughter Roxanne (Mark) Berdahl of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; grandchildren Steven, Sarah, Brianna, Michelle and Morgan; Claire, Jeff and Megan; Rae Ann and David; Jeffrey; Noah, Cole, Penn, Levi and Jaiden; Eric and Lauren; Jack, Mary and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren Maleik and Vinny; Grayson; Iven and Elayne; Harry; Micah; sister Almarine (Don) Kabes of Clarkson; sister Anita (Alvin) Steffensmeier of Clarkson; and brother Norbert (Carolyn) Barta of Ord.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents Lumir and Mary Barta; first husband Raymond Brabec; second husband Marvin Stevens; infant twins Patrick and Patricia Brabec; and infant son Joseph Brabec.
