Douglas J. Micek, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, in Lincoln.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan, with the Rev. Joseph A. Miksch officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, at St. Stanislaus Church, with a 7 p.m. vigil service to follow. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday morning at the church. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery

Douglas J. Micek was born April 25, 1969, in Columbus, to Jack Lee and Rita (Dush) Micek. He grew up in Duncan and graduated from Columbus High School in 1988, where he participated in football and wrestling. Following high school, he worked for Welker Construction and Mueller and Shoepf Drywall. Doug moved to Lincoln where he started his own drywall business, Pro Finish Drywall. Doug enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, four-wheeling, horse racing, shuffleboard, Nebraska football and the Kansas City Royals.
Doug is survived by mother, Rita Micek of Columbus; brother, Ivan Micek of Chicago; sister, Bev (Bill) Gillespie of Shelby; sister, Cathy (Bill) Kurtenbach of Columbus; sister, Connie (Dave) Moore of Chanhassen, Minnesota; nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; significant other, Cheryl Moltz Marks of Lincoln, and her daughters: Ashley, Taylor, and Hayley Marks; beloved dog, Katie.
He is preceded in death by father, Jack Micek; grandparents, Jake Micek and Frances (Micek) Kosiba and grandparents Stephen and Teofelia Dush.
