Duane Delp, 86, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, in Omaha.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, at St. Isidore Catholic Church. There will be a 5 p.m. vigil service on Sunday, Jan. 13, at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home, and will continue from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday at St. Isidore Church. Burial will be in the All Saints Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Hartman Post # 84 Honor Guard.
Duane Delp was born March 5, 1933, in Battle Creek, to Summit Brooks and Emma (Hefley) Delp. He grew up in Battle Creek, where he received his education. He entered the United States Air Force in 1949, and served until his military retirement in 1969. He was married to Roberta Connor on Nov. 19, 1951, in Omaha. They lived in many locations throughout his military career. In 1978, they moved to Columbus, where Duane worked at NPPD until he retired. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree.
Duane is survived by wife, Roberta Delp of Columbus; son, Richard (Deanna) Delp of Cedar Falls, Iowa; daughter, Teresa (Quin) Delp of Omaha; son, Bill Delp of Omaha; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sister, Lois (Duane) Backes of Lindsay.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother.
