Elaine F. Demuth, 74, of Columbus, died Oct. 10, 2018, at Columbus Community Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. A vigil will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14, at McKown Funeral Home. There will also be a Catholic Daughters rosary at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, also at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday and continue from 8-10 a.m. on Monday, all at McKown Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the wishes of the family.
Elaine F. Demuth was born June 17, 1944, in David City, to Ludvik and Mary (Bohaty) Jisa. She grew up in Garrison, and graduated from David City High School in 1962. She was united in marriage to John Demuth on June 12, 1965, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. Elaine has lived in Columbus since June 1965, and worked at Dale Electronics, Douglas and Lomason, and her greatest career was as an in-home daycare provider for 40 plus years, taking care of over 100 children. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and Ladies of the Lord.
She is survived by husband John J. Demuth of Columbus, daughter Michelle M. (Gary) Wiese of Fremont, son Douglas (Sandi) Demuth of Columbus, son Michael (Gretchen) Demuth of Grand Junction, Colorado; son Daniel (Jennifer) Demuth of Fremont, brother Melvin Jisa of Columbus, sister Betty Keller of Columbus; 12 grandchildren: Cole, Alli, Alec, Amber, Anna, Jake, Adam, Carter, Caden, Megan, Isabella, and Kathryn.
She was preceded in death by parents Ludvik and Mary Jisa and granddaughter Jamie.
