Georgia A. Larson, 89, of Stanton, Nebraska, formerly of Creston, Nebraska, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at the Stanton Health Center.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Creston with the Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Creston. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time, all at the church. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday also at the church.
Georgia was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Loretto, Nebraska, to Elmer J. and Elsie W. (Loseke) Busse. She was baptized at Trinity Evangelical Church. The family moved to Leigh, Nebraska, where Georgia graduated from high school. On June 29, 1947, Georgia was united in marriage to John "Jack" Larson, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Leigh. She and John worked the farm together until they retired in 1992. They moved to Norfolk, Nebraska, in 2011, and to the Stanton Health Center in 2014.
Georgia enjoyed baking, quilting, sewing, playing cards, camping with family and friends, traveling, and dancing. She was an active member in her community and her church (St. Peter Lutheran).
Georgia is survived by her sons, Lee (Pat) Larson of Stanton, Nebraska, and Dave (Jane) Larson of Norfolk, Nebraska; daughter - Kay (Jeff) Olson of Madison, Nebraska; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; and sister Ceola Sedlacek of Columbus, Nebraska.
Georgia was preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Elsie Busse; husband, John "Jack" Larson; brothers, Nordan and Orville Busse and sister, Betty Held.
