Harry was born on March 1, 1923, to Ernst and Margaret (Meyer) Rosche, on the family farm in rural Columbus. He was baptized, confirmed, and attended grade school at Christ Lutheran. He managed the family farm at age 16 when his father became ill. On Sept. 15, 1946, Harry was united in marriage to Beatrice “Betty” Henke at Christ Lutheran Church, and was happily married for 72 years. For 30 years, they enjoyed their townhouse in Keystone, Colorado, with family and friends, and for the last 23 years they kept their social calendar filled in Mesa, Arizona, during the winter. Harry's hobbies were skiing, golf, bowling, bridge, and everything outdoors. When the fish were biting, Harry was found at the crack of dawn on a pond, and he was also an avid hunter.
Harry was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder and chairman of the congregation and other elected offices. He was a registered antique dealer, and restored and refinished countless pieces of antique furniture. One of his favorite places to visit was Shipshewana Antique Auction. Harry and Betty traveled extensively with friends. He had a successful farming operation and his passion was feeding cattle until the day he died.
Harry is survived by wife, Betty Rosche of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Charlene (Bruce) Ebner of Omaha; grandchildren: Matthew Rosche, Staci (Bob) Lamberty, Mitchell (Megan) Ebner, and Natalie (Jason) Christoffersen; son, Bryce (Cathy) Rosche of St. Louis; grandchildren: Chandra, Kristen and Jonathan (Stacie) Rosche; daughter, Brenda (Dave) Luckey of Columbus; grandchildren: Spencer Luckey, Alisoun (Fiancé – Colby Denson) Luckey; great-grandchildren: Emma Rosche, Kamren and Samuel Rosche, Ellie Rosche, Jaxon, Mason, and Weston Ebner, Julian and Reese Christoffersen.
