Helen Berg, 80, of Genoa, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at the Genoa Community Hospital.
A memorial vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 14, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bill L'Heureux officiating. There will be a visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the church.
Helen was born on July 8, 1938, in London England, to John and Sara Elizabeth (Grace) Turner. After moving to the United States, Helen was married to Thomas Bonk for many years. They lived in Columbus for several years where Helen worked at BD. Helen eventually moved to Genoa where she worked many long hours to support her family. She loved her family dearly. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, knitting many baby outfits and blankets for her grandchildren, and reading, especially the Bible.
Helen is survived by son, John (Sandy) Bonk of Kearney; daughter, Sallie (LeRoy) Rinkol of Genoa; daughter, Jackie (Dana) Peterson of Genoa; daughter, Linda Bonk (Connie Beans) of Kansas City, Missouri; son, Tom (Denise) Bonk of Kearney; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Turner of England; brother-in-law, Don Pearson of England.
Helen was preceded in death by parents, John and Sara Turner; sister, Mary Pearson; and brother, John Turner.
