Irma L. Janicek, 99, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at Brookstone Meadows in Elkhorn, Nebraska.
Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation is 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, with a 10 a.m. CDA rosary at the church. Burial is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Irma was born July 12, 1920, in Lanesville, Illinois, to Henry and Winifred (Moyer) Bales. She graduated from Kramer High School in 1938, and on July 7, 1941, she married Michael Romanek, who passed away on July 16, 1969. On Oct. 24, 1975, she was united in marriage to Cyrus Janicek, who passed away on Jan. 26, 2013. Irma was raised in Columbus and worked for Loup Power for 13 years. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters. Irma enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, and reading.
She is survived by her sons, Richard (Nancy) Romanek of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Thomas (Deb) Romanek of Omaha, Nebraska, Ronald (Brenda) Romanek of Wildomar, California and Michael Romanek of Lincoln, Nebraska; stepdaughters, Janice Molczyk of Columbus, Nebraska, Marlene (Ken) Ebel of Columbus, Nebraska, Jonelle (Mick) Demuth of David City, Nebraska, Joan (Gary) Blessing of North Stonington, Connecticut, Jacqueline (Roger) Thompson of North Platte, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 45 step-great-grandchildren; and six step great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Michael Romanek; second husband, Cyrus Janicek; one infant brother; two brothers; one half-brother; one sister; and one half-sister.
