James E. George
May 21, 1928 -- March 12, 2019
James Emil George beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed from this life peacefully on March 12, 2019 at his home in Peoria, Arizona.
He was born on May 21, 1928, to James F. George and Marie (Kuhlbars) George in West New York, New Jersey. During World War II he proudly served in the U.S. Navy.
He married Dorothy Gallagher Nov. 18, 1950. Together they had six children, Susan, Amy, Nancy, James, Stephen and Beth. They were married for 62 years. He is survived by his children, his sister Diana Gunzel, Diane Henning, his partner, 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy in 2012 and grandson, Clinton in 2018.
He was most proud of his career at Becton, Dickinson and Company starting in East Rutherford, New Jersey and moving to Columbus, Nebraska when he was promoted to Plant Manager of three B-D plants. He served as Sector Vice President before his retirement and travelled to 4 continents as productivity expert making the company the envy of the industry.
He was deeply loved by everyone in his family. He loved golfing, running, traveling, cooking, football, swimming but mostly family and friend gatherings with a lot of laughter.
We could write more than a hundred pages about this man and his accomplishments, but the most important thing was that he loved life and lived his life to the fullest. We will miss him greatly.
A service will be held at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, Arizona at 10 a.m. on March 23, 2019 followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:30 at The Lakes Golf Course, 19260 N. Westbrook Parkway, Peoria, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
