OMAHA -- Kenneth Hilmer of Omaha was born in Columbus.

He is preceded in death by parents, Frank and Thiebe Hilmer; brothers Clarence, Edward and Harvey and sisters Sadie, Pearl and Elsie.

He is survived by beloved wife of 59 years, June; children Wanita Leonard (Mike), Randolph Hilmer, Kim Foreman (Daniel), and Kelly Young (Mark); grandchildren Jeremy, Shawnna, Cameron, Jessica, Tristan, Joshua and Selah; four great-grandchildren: Zachary, Carson, Madelyn, and Garrett; brother, Norman (Joyce); many nieces and nephews.

Ken served in the United States Marine Corps in the Korean War from 1951-1953. He was employed by Anchor Construction for 32 years, he worked in heavy road construction and street sewer work until retiring at age 62.

Funeral luncheon will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, 1326 South 26th St., Omaha, followed by funeral service at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, with military honors. Memorials may be directed to the family.
