Leroy J. Krzycki died Friday, June 28, 2019, in Florence, Oregon.
A private burial service was held at Pacific Sunset Cemetery in Florence. A Celebration of Life followed at Quiet Waters on Sherwood Island at Sutton Lake.
Leroy was born Nov. 8, 1936, in Columbus, to Clarence and Marcella (Zoucha) Krzycki. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1954 and from the University of Nebraska in 1958 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in 1960.
During his career at the Naval Weapons Center at China Lake, California, from 1959 until his retirement in 1991, Leroy was engaged in cutting-edge technology projects employing highly experimental hardware and propellants.
Leroy married Bette Meyers in 1964, and they lived on Wilhelm Creek Ranch for part of each year until Bette died in 1985. In 1987, he was married to Katheryn Davis and they resided at Sutton Lake in Florence where they operated Quiet Waters Gallery.
He is survived by sister, Beverly, and brother-in-law, Carroll Jaixen; stepchildren, Kelty (John) LaRocco, Steve Davis, Tina Davis, and Susan Dewberry. He has many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by grandparents; parents, Clarence and Marcella Krzycki; and infant brother, Everett.
