LINCOLN — Lois Ann (Kallenbach) Fallick, 80, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, at the Monarch Hospice in Lincoln.

She was born Aug. 9, 1937, in Shelby to Louis and Alice Kallenbach. She graduated from Rising City High School in 1955. She received her associate degree from Nebraska State Teachers College in 1957, followed by her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1961.

On Aug. 6, 1961, she married Stanley W. Fallick Jr. Previously residing in York and Lincoln, they were longtime residents of Columbus. It is there where they raised their five children Julie (Mark) Voboril, Jaci Fallick, JoElle (Tom) Jensen, Dr. John (Jean) Fallick and Jay (Kylie) Fallick. She was especially proud of her 12 grandchildren Jade, Jacob, Eliza, Jerrad, Mariah, Joshua, Jordyn, Joseph, Quinn, Payton, Carter and Alexis. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Lois was a life-long teacher, while living in Columbus she taught first through third grades and spent many years as a Sunday school teacher. Lois served others but most fondly she served as a Cub Scout and 4-H leader, PTA president and as room mother at North Park Elementary School. She later worked for Columbus Public Schools as a librarian. She was an avid gardener. Upon retiring and later moving to Lincoln, she volunteered at the Lincoln Sunken Gardens. She also sewed and quilted for many years allowing her to connect with many new friends. She cheered for the Huskers; football, volleyball and baseball.

Lois is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, brother Bob (Jean) Kallenbach and sister Linda (Gary) Micek, both of Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary (Kallenbach) Schmidt, sister-in-law Nancy Hawkins and nephews Jeff Schmidt and Joe Hawkins.

A celebration of life service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at South Gate United Methodist Church, 3500 Pioneers Blvd., in Lincoln with the Rev. Stephanie Ahlschwede presiding. Visitation with family will be prior to the service, or during a luncheon to immediately follow the celebration. A family interment of ashes at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery will follow the luncheon.
