NORFOLK -- Louise Barjenbruch, 96, of Norfolk, passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at the Stanton Health Center.
A funeral service is planned for Barjenbruch at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh. Reverend Mike Moreno will officiate. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the church. Home for Funerals is in charge of the arrangements.
Louise Helen was born on June 7, 1921 near Clarkson, Nebraska, to Henry and Louise (Kuehner) Hefti. She attended Clarkson Public School and graduated from Leigh High School in 1939.
On Sept. 24, 1940, she was united in marriage to Martin Barjenbruch. They lived in Ord, Nebraska, for one year and then moved to a farm south of Leigh, where they resided for 40 years. They later built a new home and moved into Leigh.
She enjoyed crocheting in her free time. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ladies Circle and Leigh Women’s Club.
Louise is survived by her two children Robert (Sharon) Barjenbruch of Norfolk and Annette (Don) Marking of Leigh, four grandchildren Russ, Lori, Brian and Ann, nine great- grandchildren, sister Helen Stanley, sister-in-law Darlene Hefti and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters Margaret Schneider, LaVerna Jedlicka, Dorothy Anderl; brother, Henry Hefti; brother in-laws Joe Blum, Henry Schneider, Longin Jedlicka, Sterling Anderl and John Stanley.
