Melvin H. Mohrman, 91, of Columbus, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at Cottonwood House in Columbus.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Shell Creek Baptist Church in rural Columbus, with the Rev. Clyde Zimbelman officiating. Interment will be in the Shell Creek Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, at Gass Haney Funeral Home, and will continue from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church, with a 10:15 a.m. family prayer service.

Melvin was born April 28, 1928, in Platte County, to Emil and Anna (Hansen) Mohrman. He graduated from Kramer High School in 1946. On Jan. 29, 1950, Melvin was united in marriage to Nadine Welch in Columbus. They lived in Platte County all their lives where Melvin farmed. Melvin also was a salesman at Archer Oil and sold seed corn for many years with different companies. He was a member of Shell Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was in the men's quartet. He was also a proud member of National Farmers Organization where he was active in both national and local levels.
Melvin is survived by wife, Nadine Mohrman of Columbus; son, Russ (Linda) Mohrman of Nixa, Missouri; daughter, Patty (Mark) Cady of Lake City, Florida; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Riddle of Phoenix; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
Melvin was preceded in death by parents, Emil and Anna Mohrman; son, Scott Mohrman; infant daughter, Pamela; infant son, Bruce; sister, Evelyn Behlen.
