COLUMBUS — Nadine Jungemann, 83, of Columbus, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus with the Revs. Cory Burma and Michael Klatt officiating. Interment will be in the Leigh City Cemetery in Leigh prior to the funeral service. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church or Mission Central.

Nadine Ellen Jungemann was born Dec. 22, 1933, in Leigh to Frank and Leona (Malena) Smejkal. She was baptized at the Congregational Church in Leigh, attended Dist. 45 grade school, and graduated from Leigh High School in 1951. Nadine taught school for a short time, and helped take care of her mother. On Dec. 17, 1983, Nadine was united in marriage to Wayne Jungemann at Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed working puzzles, especially jigsaw puzzles.

Nadine is survived by her husband Wayne Jungemann of Columbus; sister Lauretta (Mel) Dehning of Columbus; nephew Brian (Jan) Dehning of Dublin, California; niece Sheryl (Frank) Long of Phoenix, Arizona; sister-in-law Karen (Duane) Ploeger of Storm Lake, Iowa; sister-in-law Linda McWilliams of Pisgah, Iowa; and sister-in-law Lucille (Gary) Whiteside of Sun City West, Arizona.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Leona Smejkal.
